Everyone knows. Texas is in the Southwest United States and shares a border with Mexico. It doesn’t snow in Texas.
Or does it? Amarillo is about 3,800 feet above sea level in the high planes. The high altitude and proximity to the Rocky Mountains ensures Amarillo gets some snow almost every winter.
But just as snow storms come and go, so does the snow itself. It can snow several inches, but two or three days later temperatures soar back up in the 60’s and 70’s and the snow all melts.
